Our initiatives create change through exposure, experiences and a change of environments.   Our programs provide the building blocks to reach their full potential in the areas of social, emotional, and financial wellness.

Why must we Address Wealth Disparities?

 It ensures equal access to opportunities, breaks cycles of intergenerational poverty, fosters economic empowerment, and promotes a more equitable and just society.

It is crucial for equitable access to healthcare, mental health resources, and overall well-being. It promotes a healthier, resilient generation, reduces systemic racism's impact on health outcomes, and breaks the cycle of intergenerational health issues, fostering a more inclusive and just society.

Contributors to Mental Health Disparities

Mental health disparities persist among African Americans. SAMHSA, Center for Behavioral Health Statistics around 30% of African American households are led by single mothers, compared to 9% in white households. Access to culturally competent care is limited, resulting in poorer quality of care. Shockingly, only one-third of African Americans in need of mental health care actually receive it.

Black Americans face significant financial challenges compared to white Americans. As of 2014, the median black household income was around $43,300, while white households had a median income of approximately $71,300, highlighting a significant wealth disparity.

Black People

Throughout history, systemic racism has been the root cause of profound disparities, resulting in adverse health outcomes and economic inequality. Black Youth & Young Adults bear the brunt of these inequities, experiencing a notable absence of net worth and being disproportionately burdened by debt, as well as facing various physical and mental health challenges.

Social Progress

Achieving social progress, the capacity of a society to meet the basic human needs of its citizens, establish the building blocks that allow citizens and communities to enhance and sustain the quality of their lives, and create the conditions for all individuals to reach their full potential.  

Wellbeing, Wellness & Wealth 

We are dedicated to healing hearts, hurts, and headspaces, as well as alter perspectives and prepare young Black individuals to Walk Into their Next empowered and equipped. We accomplish this by providing elevated moments through our Dope Wellness Experiences. We understand that Exposure, Experiences, and a change of Environment are the difference makers in achieving this goal. Join us in giving HOPE - Help to Open Pathways to Expectation (Success)!

To combat these systemic inequities, Black People Forward strives to create pathways for change. We aim to provide programs, resources to under-supported and overlooked groups, fostering community connectivity. Through culturally tailored approaches, we seek to promote social, emotional, and financial well-being.
